Firebird Rising
Book Two of the Thalassan Trilogy
At the core of the Thalassan paradigm, ineluctable - does rain fall upwards? - is rooted a reverence for life.
All laws are grounded in respect for the wellbeing of eleven billion commensal, interdependent, co-valent species, including two billion humans: laws based on any other premise are not true laws. This we call 'qeqey', a Quereshi (First Peoples) concept embracing the allness of all life: our wildly evolving, intricately radical inseparability; the boundless interanimacy of mycorrhiza, mice, humans and galaxies.
The One Law - the second of the Principles of Interbeing - states that pollution is theft, and that no substance that cannot be harmlessly reintegrated might be used ever, anywhere. The Eirenikon expects that clearing the ordure of the industrial and electronic ages, and the restoration of Thalassa to full health, will take the better part of a thousand years.
Within the rigour of that framework, we are free to pursue our wildest dreams. Or not. That, too, is a choice.
Ecological Verities and Adamancies of the Eirenikon of Thalassa El-Loha An-Nur La'Hazhva.
